After a few wind storms, this home owner’s roof had lifted shingles, cracked shingles, and several shingles missing from it. On top of that, several pieces of plywood underneath the shingles were rotted because of poor protection from rainwater. The roof needed repair or replacing if the homeowner wanted to avoid leaks inside their home.
As a restoration contractor, we had a perfect solution for them. Since the damage was caused by windstorms, we were able to help get their insurance company to pay for a full roof replacement. Once we got their insurance company onboard, Built Right got to work on installing the new roof. We stripped the old roof down to the plywood and replaced 7 sheets of plywood that were rotting and unsuitable to nail new shingles too. Then the team put felt paper underlayment on the entirety of the roof as the first barrier of protection against leakage. We also installed the usual stuff like 3ft of ice and water guard to prevent future ice dams, a drip edge guard so water would drain to the gutters, a ridge vent to ventilate the roof and attic, and galvanized chimney flashing to prevent leakage in that area. Finally, we shingled the whole roof with rustic redwood Tamko shingles. The homeowner was very happy with how everything turned out and they are glad they went with Built Right!
